Rome at a Crossroads: A Saint’s Canonization Delayed, a Pope Laid to Rest

This Wednesday, I’m heading to Rome. I was originally going to be there for the canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis, something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. But with the sorrowful news of the Holy Father’s passing and the canonization now postponed, this trip has taken on a whole new meaning. Instead of celebrating the life of a future saint, I’ll now be there to pray for the soul of Pope Francis and for the Church as we enter this time of mourning and transition. I’ll be sharing updates from Rome, including the Holy Father’s funeral and other moments of prayer and reflection, hoping to offer a window into this historic and deeply moving time for the Catholic Church.
